LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall senior, Lauren Incorvaia, was named the Centennial Conference's Player of the Week in softball Monday afternoon. Incorvaia hit .467 (14-for-30) with 15 RBIs and five home runs last week. She scored nine runs and had a 1.000 slugging percentage. The nod from the Centennial is her first Player of the Week award.
Incorvaia (game-by-game statistics) has helped F&M to its fastest start of a season since 1981. The Diplomats are 11-5, under second-year head coach, Mike Cooperstein. The 11 wins are the most for an F&M softball squad in five years. The Diplomats have posted 10 wins under Cooperstein in each of his first two seasons, a feat that had not been accomplished in the three seasons prior to his arrival.
Incorvaia and company return to the Diamond at Penn State-Berks on Tuesday.
