Zambrano Nets Last Minute Goal as Diplomats Down Bryn Mawr 1-0 in Women's Soccer

LANCASTER, PA - Forward Amanda Zambrano (Sr., Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) finished a pass from Danielle David (Fr., Plymouth Meeting, PA/Germantown Academy) with 23.3 seconds remaining on the clock as the Franklin & Marshall College women's soccer team defeated Bryn Mawr College 1-0 in Centennial Conference competition at Baker Campus.

After 89 minutes of scoreless play, the Diplomats (10-4-1, 5-4 Centennial Conference) took a 1-0 lead as Zambrano drilled a shot past Owls' goalie Collette Pullion to record her fifth game-winning goal of the season. The goal marks Zambrano's seventh on the season, as she moves past Heather Rice '03 (38) for sixth in career goals at the College as she has 39-9-87 to also rank seventh in points.

In goal, Robyn Jones (Jr., Titusville, PA/Pennington) saved Bryn Mawr's only shot to lower her goals against average to 0.74 per content with a .867 save percentage on the year.

For Bryn Mawr, Pullion recorded 18 saves on 27 shots to take the loss as the Owls fall to 5-11 and 0-8 in the Centennial Conference.

The win clinched the 11th 10 victory season for the Diplomats as Franklin & Marshall as won 10 or more games eight of the last 10 years.

Franklin & Marshall (10-4-1, 5-4 Centennial Conference) will conclude regular season play against Johns Hopkins University on October 29 at Baker Field. Match time is set for noon.
