Women's soccer team battles to double overtime tie;

Sept. 20, 2006

LANCASTER - Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team won in every category except the scoreboard Wednesday afternoon at home. But after regulation and two overtimes, Coach Steve O'Day's squad had to settle for a 0-0 tie.

The Diplomats outshot the visitors 21-3. In the end, however, it was the goalkeepers that ruled the day.

Cabrini keeper Aimee Ralph came away with nine saves, while F&M goalie Robyn Jones wasn't that busy in turning away two.

Offensively, Shannon Summers fired eight shots for F&M and Athena Monalakos three to lead the barrage, though none would find the back of the net.

The Dips return to conference play Sept. 23rd when they travel to Haverford before returning home for a Sept. 30th Centennial date with McDaniel.
