LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College goalkeeper Robyn Jones (Jr., Titusville, NJ/Pennington) has been named the September 19 Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Last week, she made seven saves as the Diplomats shutout Susquehanna University (1-0 W) and Swarthmore College (1-0 W OT) on the road. In the Centennial Conference opener versus Swarthmore, she made five saves to keep the Diplomats in the game until Amanda Zambrano (Sr., Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) netted the game-winning goal in overtime.
On the year, Jones has a .941 save percentage and a 0.25 goals against average as she is 4-0 with three shutouts and one goal allowed in 361:16 minutes of play.
Historically, she now has 19 shutouts in 45 career games, an average of a shutout every 2.37 starts, as she transferred to Franklin & Marshall from Division I Rutgers University prior to the season.
In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, she ranks first in shutouts (three), second in goals against average (0.25 gpg) and save percentage (.941), eighth in saves per game (4.00 spg) and ninth in saves (16) as the Diplomats rank second in goals against average (0.40 gpg), third in shutouts (three) and fourth in goals (2.20 gpg).
Franklin & Marshall (5-0, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season at Cabrini College on September 22. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
