Wilkes Defeats Goucher 7-1 in Final Game of 2004 F&M Women's Soccer Tournament

LANCASTER, PA -- Kami Roth scored three goals and Kristi Barsby added two goals and three assists to lead Wilkes University to a 7-1 win over Goucher College in the final game of the 2004 Law Firm of Gray, Patterson, Cody & Taylor Women's Soccer Tournament.. The Lady Colonels improve to 2-1 overall, while Goucher slips to 0-2.

Roth got Wilkes on the board in the second minute with a goal off a Barsby assist. Barsby followed with an unassisted goal in the 18th minute to give the Lady Colonels a 2-0 lead. Roth scored her second goal of the contest off an assist from Barsby in the 20th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. Christina Waldele got in on the scoring act in the 35th minute when she scored off an assist from Jillian Chiucchi to make it 4-0 at intermission.

Roth capped her hat-trick in the 55th minute of the second half with an unassisted goal to give Wilkes a 5-0 advantage. Gina Robinson scored the next goal for the Lady Colonels off assists from both Waldele and Barsby to make it 6-0 in the 58th minute.

Katie Miller followed with an unassisted goal for Goucher 68 minutes into the contest. Barsby then scored the final goal of the contest in the 74th minute off a Waldele assist.

Wilkes held a 19-5 shots on goal advantage, while Goucher gained a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. Katie Green and Liz Pauly split four saves in goal for the Lady Colonels. Tara Haag finished with 12 saves in net for Goucher.
