Noelle Bisinger scored the game-winning goal after a deflected save off Melissa Reuter's shot with 3:21 left to play to lead Ursinus over Franklin & Marshall in the Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer opener for both teams.
The Diplomats (3-2-1, 0-1 CC) fought back from a 2-0 deficit at halftime, netting two goals in less than 10 minutes apart but the Bears (3-1-1, 1-0 CC) got the final goal in the 87th minute to post their fourth straight win over F&M.
Ursinus grabbed a 2-0 lead thanks to Leigh Voss who finished a pass from Megan Ascanio five feet from the goal, before assisting Jess Gunzelman at 39:28 off her deflected shot.
In the 63rd minute, Kathryn Daniels was fouled inside the box and David put the penalty kick past Lisa Clark to cut the lead to 2-1. The Diplomats evened the score after Sarah George found Tylus for the one-touch shot to make it 2-all.
Bisinger pushed the lead to 3-2, scoring the same way Ursinus netted its first goal. Reuter had her breakaway shot saved by Roy and Bisinger was there to knock in the game winner.
F&M return to action on Wednesday at Cabrini. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
