Rutgers-Camden Takes Consolation Contest
Sept. 1, 2007
LANCASTER, Pa. - Lindy Iannacone struck twice in 11 minutes to deliver Rutgers-Camden (1-1) a 2-0 win over Delaware Valley (0-2) in the consolation game of the 2007 Franklin & Marshall Soccer Kickoff Tournament.
Iannacone collected a direct kick set into play from the left side of the net by Vanessa Maia. She punched it into the top right corner with 1:18 left in the first half. She followed that effort with an insurance tallying in the opening minutes of the second half to improve the Raptors' record to 1-1.
The field was tilted in Rutgers-Camden's favor throughout the contest. The Raptors out-shot Delaware Valley 8-7, but held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Cortney Bower recorded three saves for the Aggies, while Kristen Cargen turned aside a pair of shots for the shutout.
