LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Amanda McGowan was named to the 2013 NSCAA College Division Women's Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention Team. The distinction is the first of McGowan's career and the second academic accolade of the postseason, after also being named to the Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll.
McGowan has been a standout on the field and in the classroom for the Diplomats collecting multiple honors for her play. Earlier in the offseason, the senior goalkeeper made her way onto the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team, while also landing on the All-CC First Team for the third-consecutive year.
She placed fourth in the conference in goals against average (1.07) and sixth in save percentage (.802). McGowan's five shutouts tied for third in the CC as she finished her career atop the school's all-time list with 19.
The netminder wrapped up her illustrious career with her name scattered throughout the Diplomats' record book. McGowan's 15 wins are tied for second all-time, while her 0.96 goals against average ranks third. She also sits in the top 10 in save percentage (.814), saves (214) and games played by a goalie (48).
