Blue Jays Fly over Diplomats

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown College defeated Franklin & Marshall 3-0 in a non-conference women's soccer game Wednesday evening. Kelsey Boehmer scored two goals and Laura Wingert dished out two assists leading the Blue Jays (2-2) to their second victory of the year.

Boehmer knocked in her first goal in the ninth minute off a cross from Wingert. The Blue Jays scored again in the 50th minute when Wingert found Amy Bunting for the score. With only three seconds remaining in the game, Boehmer chipped in her second goal of the evening from twenty yards out.

The Diplomats (2-4) were unable to get their offense started managing just two shots to the Blue Jays 15. Elizabethtown also held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

F&M keeper Katie Golding stopped four shots in absorbing the loss. Golding falls to 2-4 on the season. Jess Manchak improves to 1-1 with the win.

The Diplomats return to action September 19th when Ursinus travels to Lancaster for the Centennial Conference opener.
