LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team is ranked second in the Metro Region in the April 27 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Rankings.
Ranked #9 in the April 25 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, the Diplomats have opened the season with a 11-2 mark as Franklin & Marshall has defeated Muhlenberg (16-7 W), Keene State (16-2 W), #6 Gettysburg (8-7 W), McDaniel (11-7 W), Washington (16-6 W), Dickinson (12-5 W), Ursinus (7-6 W), Bryn Mawr (19-3 W), Swarthmore (15-4 W), Haverford (15-7 W) and Rowan (19-10 W).
The Diplomats are one of two Centennial Conference teams ranked, as Gettysburg College is ranked third.
Franklin & Marshall (11-2, 9-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 30-May 1 as the Diplomats will host the 2005 Centennial Conference Championship Tournament.
F&M will take to the field at 1:00 p.m. on April 30 in the semifinals versus #5 seed McDaniel College. Fifty-minutes following the Diplomats game, #2 seed Gettysburg College will face #3 Ursinus College at Williamson.
On May 1, the semifinal winners will square off at Williamson Field at 1:00 p.m. for the 2005 Centennial Conference title. This year, F&M defeated Gettysburg 8-7 in Lancaster on March 30, managed McDaniel 11-7 in Lancaster on April 6 and upended Ursinus 7-6 on April 14 in Lancaster.
