WLAX Notes: No. 1 F&M (4-0) at No. 2 Salisbury

The nation’s top two teams go head-to-head on a date that has been circled on the Division III lacrosse calendar since last May. The Sea Gulls lead the series 6-3, but the Diplomats have the two wins that count the most – the 2007 and 2009 NCAA Championship game. F&M has never won a game at Salisbury. The Diplomats will take another crack at it on Saturday. (more)

Hargest Busy as Dips Down Beavers

The same Diplomats that chewed up the Beavers in the 2008 NCAA Tournament were busy gnawing away at Babson once again Tuesday evening. Blake Hargest scored five goals and assisted on five more, while Meredith Lussier added four more goals to lead No. 1 Franklin & Marshall (4-0) to 16-5 win over No. 10 Babson (2-2). (more)

No.1 F&M (3-0) vs. No. 10 Babson (2-1)

Franklin & Marshall will face Babson for the second time in program history. The only prior meeting was played in Lancaster during the 2008 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. F&M defeated the Beavers 15-4. (more)

Diplomats School Profs

The Rowan Profs issued Franklin & Marshall’s women’s lacrosse team its first road test of the season on Thursday. Spurred on by a dominant defense, the No. 1 Diplomats (3-0) passed with flying colors, picking up a 14-4 win over Rowan (1-1). (more)

WLAX Notes: #1 F&M (2-0) at Rowan (1-0)

Today’s game marks the 16th meeting between the two schools in a series that began in 1995. Rowan won the initial meeting, played in Lancaster, 10-8. F&M owns a 10-5 lead in the series and has won each of the last three meetings, and eight of the last nine. Seven of the games have been played in Glassboro with the Diplomats holding a 5-2 edge. F&M won 15-8 in the last trip to Rowan on March 4, 2008. Rowan’s last win over F&M on their home turf was a 15-12 win on April 21, 2006, their most recent victory in the series. The two teams have gone to overtime twice, with F&M coming away with the win on both occasions. (more)

Diplomats Muzzle Bulldogs

No. 1 Franklin & Marshall used a stifling defense and a balanced attack to hand Adrian College (Mich.) a 15-5 defeat in women’s lacrosse on Tuesday. Seven different Diplomats (2-0) found the net, while F&M’s steady defense and goalkeeping left the Bulldogs (1-2) on the short end of the chain. (more)

Today’s Game: No. 1 Franklin & Marshall (1-0) will host Adrian College in the first meeting between the two schools. (more)

Defending Champs Don’t Skip a Beat

Three different Diplomats tallied hat tricks to lead No. 1 Franklin & Marshall to a 16-8 win over No. 16 Washington & Lee in the opening game of F&M’s second NCAA title defense. Senior attack, Blake Hargest gave the Diplomats (1-0) an early boost, and left the Generals (2-2) playing catch-up the rest of the way. (more)

A two-time All-America choice and three-time Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region First Team selection for the Diplomats, Lauren Paul ’03, became the 10th women’s lacrosse coach in the program’s history in September, 2008.
