LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Danielle Harrington was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the second of the season for Harrington.
Harrington (Massapequa, N.Y. / Plainedge) went 2-0 last week for the Diplomats in a pair of impressive performances in net. The junior goalkeeper tallied eight saves and allowed just three goals in a 13-5 victory over Swarthmore on Saturday, before following on Sunday with a season-high 10 saves in a key 8-4 win over No. 10 Salisbury.
Jumping to No. 3 in the nation, F&M (6-1, 1-0 CC) next faces defending National Champion Middlebury, who holds the No. 5 ranking. The contest is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start on Wednesday in Lancaster.
