LANCASTER, Pa. -- Maggie Mae Shields was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom.
The IWLCA honored 382 student-athletes from 67 different institutions with inclusion in the 2013 Academic Honor Roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.
Shields (Bryn Mawr, Pa. / Baldwin School) was a dominant force from the midfield, scoring 28 goals and handing out 11 assists last season. She collected 35 ground balls and came away with 35 draws while causing 21 turnovers. The senior earned a spot on the IWCLA All-Metro Region First Team and the Centennial Conference First Team.
F&M finished the season with a 16-5 record and advanced to the regional finals of the NCAA Playoffs.
