F&M Opens Spring at Millersville Invitational

QUARRYVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team began its spring competition on Sunday, competing in the Millersville Invitational at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club. The Diplomats combined for a 434 total to place eighth out of eight competing teams.

Freshman Anelise Browne led the Diplomats at the par-72, 5,815-yard course by tying for 16th place out of 37 competitors with a 95 on the day. Megan Whittier totaled a 105, Ember Toth recorded a 112, and Harriet Waldron shot a 122 to round out F&M's participants. 

West Chester's Lacey Bensing secured the individual title with a 78, which was two strokes ahead of the second-place finisher, as West Chester also took the team title out of eight competing schools by totaling a 333 at the tournament. Millersville was second with a 357, followed by East Stroudsburg in third with a 368.

The Diplomats continue action on Saturday with a tri-match against Dickinson and McDaniel at Mayapple Golf Course in Carlisle, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
