Franklin & Marshall Receives 2003 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award

LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team has been honored with a 2003 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Team Award.

Teams selected for NFHCA Academic Team honors are nominated by their coach and must attain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher during their season.

Leading the way for the Diplomats were forwards Christine Corkran (Jr., Ellicott City, MD/Glenelg Country), Brittany Croll (So., Frankford, DE/Indian River), Lindsey Mummert (Fr., New Oxford, PA/New Oxford), midfielders Lindsey Klimik (So., Brick, NJ/Brick), Elizabeth Onasch (Jr., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley), Margaret Onasch (Fr., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley), midfielder/defender Cathleen Perrotto (Fr., Landenberg, PA/Tatnall) and midfielder/forward Whitney Trump (Jr., Sleepy Hollow, IL/Elgin Academy) who were named to the 2003 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Academic Squad.

Student-athletes selected to the NFHCA Academic Squad were nominated by their coaches and attained a minimum overall GPA of at least 3.30 through the first semester of the 2003-04 academic year.

Franklin & Marshall concluded the season 8-10, 4-6 in Centennial Conference play as the team placed seventh in the final CC standings.
