LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall goalkeeper Avery Koep has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday. The honor is Koep's second of the season, with the first coming back on Sept. 23rd, and the fifth of her career.
Koep (14-1) guided the No. 6 Diplomats to a 2-0 record last week that included a 1-0 shutout against Gettysburg on Wednesday, followed by a 3-1 victory over Dickinson on Saturday.
The senior goalkeeper registered a pair of saves against the Bullets for her seventh shutout of the season and followed the effort with a four-save performance in a win over the Red Devils.
F&M's record stands at 15-1, 9-0 CC as the Diplomats have secured the top seed and home field for the CC Championships. The regular season comes to a close for F&M on Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. showdown against McDaniel at Tylus Field.
