Caitlin McDonnell joined the Franklin & Marshall rowing program as an assistant coach for the women's team in 2017. McDonnell was a four-year member of the Cornell University rowing program, graduating in 2015 as a double major in Geological Sciences and Economics. She competed at the 2012 Ivy League Championships in the Third Varsity 8+ boat that secured third place.

Prior to F&M, McDonnell spent two years as a geophysicist in Houston, Texas where she rowed with the Greater Houston Rowing Club and served as a board member and treasurer of the organization. She won the Texas Rowing Championship Women’s Master's AA-A 2X in 2017.
