FAIRFAX STATION, Va. – Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team opened the fall portion of its schedule on Sunday at the Occoquan Chase Regatta.
Zihan Li competed in the Lightweight 1X, placing third with a time of 27:26.53.
A pair of boats took part in the Collegiate Women's 8+ event. Emilie MacDonald was the coxswain for an F&M boat of Paige Alexander (8), Teresa Chappell (7), Annette Von Jaglinsky (6) Katie Benham (5), Milly Herz (4), Leah Issokson (3), Rebecca McCain (2), and Casey Siemon (1) that secured second out of four competitors with a time of 20:08.12. Another F&M boat that featured Dori Coplan (coxswain), Kendra Gibbs (8), Taylor Baker (7), Allie Christensen (6), Lily Silverman (5), Sarah Labovitz (4), Sam Hershey (3), Grace Berg (2), and Anna Luckiewicz (1) was fourth with a time of 21:56.38.
In the Collegiate Women's 4+ race, a Diplomat boat of Emilie MacDonald (coxswain), Paige Alexander (4), Teresa Chappell (3), Katie Benham (2), and Casey Siemon (1), produced a third-place finish out of nine competitors with a final time of 21:44.89. TBC Racing placed first in the event at 20:27.98.
A Novice 4+ boat of Kelly Minard (coxswain), Allie Christensen (4), Grace Berg (3), Alana Brodie (2), and Madeline Cook (1), finished first out of three boats with a time of 22:5807. The dominant performance saw the second-place finisher register a time of 26:41.19.
The Diplomats return to the water next weekend at the historic Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass.
