Diplomats Take Two From Bryn Mawr

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall women's rowing team opened the spring season by taking two out of three races from Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference opponent Bryn Mawr in Conshohocken this afternoon.

The varsity 8+ of Danielle Tunkel - cox, Molly Hack - stroke, Maggie Provencher, Seymone Killins, Allison Ercolano, Katie Winfree, Haley Post, Debra Gladwin, and Tory Trovillion started the day by rowing 6:50.98 over a 2000m course, besting the Owls' 7:00.46.

The second varsity 8+ of Kris Dowd - cox, Jennie Silver - stroke, Abby Benkert, Olivia Hill, Emma Cedar, Mackenzie Dix, Jess Bechhofer, Julia Whyte, and Maayan Shalvi rowed a solid race over a 1,500m course. The Diplomats finished in 6:23.3, while Bryn Mawr turned in a time of 7:20.41.

F&M also competed in a varsity 4+ race over the 1,500m course. The crew of Danielle Tunkel - cox, Molly Hack - stroke, Maggie Provencher, Seymone Killins, and Allison Ercolano were beaten by a strong Bryn Mawr crew. The Diplomats rowed a 6:33, while the Owls won with a 6:19.

The Diplomats will be racing again next Saturday in the Murphy Cup held in Philadelphia.
