Diplomats Take Third at Lehigh

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall competed at the 2010 Neuweiler Plate on Saturday hosted by Lehigh on the Lehigh River. Lafayette won the Neuweiler Plate with 304 points with Lehigh in second place with 295 points, Franklin & Marshall in third with 231 and Penn State placing fourth with 224 points.

The Varsiity 8 Crew of Jan Heddens-cox, Brittany George-stroke, Alex Merrick, Morgan Burgess, Katie Winfree, Kate Emert, Haley Post, Allison Ercolano, Emma Cedar placed third with a time of 4:19, beating Penn State (4:25), falling to  Lafayette (4:03) and Lehigh (4:12).

The Varsity 4 team also placed third behind Lafayette (4:30) and Lehigh (4:48). The team of Jan Heddens-cox, Brittany George-stroke, Alex Merrick, Kate Emert and Morgan Burgess placed third with a time of 4:53, beating PSU (5:12),

Sara Houmanyani-cox, Seymone Killins-cox, Allison Ercolano, Roni Setton, Olivia Hill, Emilia Harband, Laura Morse, Laura Blasi, Sabrina Brown made up the second Varsity 8. The team placed third with a time of 7:46 behind Lafayette 7:17 and PSU 7:20.

F&M returns to water tomorrow at Occoquan Sprints located in Fairfax Station, Va.. Competition is set for 10 am.
