Series History: F&M dictates the all-time series against Washington 23-6, since these Centennial Conference (CC) schools began meeting back in 1993. The Diplomats have won the last two, including a thrilling 50-49 victory back on Jan. 15th in Lancaster. The last win for the Shorewomen occurred at the Mayser Center on Jan. 4, 2012 in a 63-54 contest. On the road F&M holds an 11-3 record against Washington.
Against Muhlenberg, the Diplomats trail 23-22 in a series that dates back to 1983. The Mules have picked up victories in the last two meetings, the last coming on Jan. 8th with a 53-43 victory in Allentown. At home, F&M owns a 15-10 record all-time, but has not beaten Muhlenberg in Lancaster since 2008. The last time the Diplomats picked up a win in the series was on Feb. 4, 2012 with a 59-54 decision in Allentown.
Last Week for F&M: The Diplomats went 1-1 last week including a 51-47 victory against Johns Hopkins on Wendesday. In the contest, Alexa Barbush scored 21 of her game-high 30 points in the second half, including 17 of the teams final 18.
The senior guard played aggressively throughout, scoring 18 from the free-throw line on 22 attempts, both career highs. Barbush shot 6-of-13 from the field and added nine rebounds on the night.
F&M's defense was solid from the start, limiting the Blue Jays to only 19 percent shooting from the field and picking up nine steals on the night.
McCarthy paced the Diplomats with 10 rebounds, her ninth double-digit effort of the season. Emma Lisle was strong under the glass as well, picking up nine boards for F&M.
Alexa Vasilla led the Blue Jays' offense with 13 points, while Stacy Fairey tacked on 10 in the losing effort.
On Saturday, F&M could not overcome a 17-0 first-half run from Haverford, dropping a 50-33 contest against the Fords. The Diplomats committed 20 turnovers on the afternoon, which led to 24 points from Haverford. F&M shot 30 percent from the field, while holding the Fords to 36 percent shooting.
Kristina McCarthy led the Diplomats with her sixth double-double of the season, recording 13 points and 13 rebounds. Alexa Barbush scored 12 points, pulled down three boards and dished out two assists during the contest.
Rachel Baskin paced the Fords with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and hauled in seven rebounds on the day.
