Diplomats Dominate Owls

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Thirteen Diplomats recorded points with two reaching double-figures as Franklin & Marshall rolled past Bryn Mawr 79-45 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The victory improved the Diplomats' record to 5-9, 2-7 CC, while the Owls fell to 1-12, 0-9 CC.

F&M took control of the contest early, opening the game on a 14-2 run to take a 12-point lead with 13:10 remaining in the first half. The Diplomats continued to pile on the baskets, going into halftime with a 32-point advantage at 42-10.

Alexa Barbush and Elizabeth Snyder dominated the Owls in the opening half, scoring 16 and 12 points respectively. Barbush shot 8-of-11 from the floor in the first, while Snyder went 5-for-8.

F&M continued where it left off in the second, extending the lead to 46 points at 65-19 with 12:44 to go in the game. The Owls attempted to chip away at the lead, pulling to within 33 at 74-41 and 3:47 on the clock, but never came close to challenging the Diplomats.

The bench played a key role in the contest for F&M, outscoring the Owls' reserves 29-0 on the afternoon. The Diplomats shot 46 percent from the floor, while the F&M defense held Bryn Mawr to only 31 percent shooting.

Barbush led the team with 20 points, while adding eight assists and five steals. Snyder joined her in double-figures with 14 points and tacked on eight rebounds.

The Diplomats return home Tuesday to take on CC-opponent Washington College. The contest is set to take place at 7:00 p.m.
