HAVERFORD, Pa. - J.T. Paganelli's 18th-place finished led Franklin & Marshall at the 2016 Centennial Conference (CC) Cross Country Championships, hosted by Haverford on Saturday. The Diplomats finished seventh as a team after tallying a total of 179 points, while Haverford took the team title with 34 points.
Paganelli finished the 8,000-meter course in 26:24.8 to cross the line first for the Diplomats. He was followed by Michael Whalen, whose time of 26:53.5 was good for 27th place. Muhlenberg's Jaryd Flank took the individual title with a mark of 24:53.9.
F&M's top five competitors all finished in the top 50, with Patrick Manion leading a pack of Diplomats by recording a time of 27:35.0 to take 39th. Aron Tesfay was next to finish for F&M, crossing in 27:53.1 for 46th place, while Brien Miceli rounded out the top five by taking 49th with a time of 28:04.5.
Postseason action continues for the Diplomats on Nov. 12, when they head to DeSales for the NCAA Mid-East Regionals.
