Diplomats Host Friends of Sarah Open

LANCASTER, Pa.- Greg Duckloe took first and Angelo Arce placed second in the non-team scoring Friends of Sarah Open Saturday afternoon at Baker Campus.  The race featured both men and women from Franklin & Marshall and Millersville.  Freshman Laura Schmitz finished 22nd and Amy Burke placed 27 for the women's team.

Duckloe finished the 5k race in 16:19 just ahead Arce who turned in a time of 16:32. Tim Merlino placed fourth with a time of 16:56, three seconds ahead of teammate Josh Wesalo finishing fifth. Rounding out the top ten for F&M was Joe Strawitz placing eighth with a time of 18:37.

On the women's side, Schmitz lead the way for the Diplomats finishing in 20:08. Burke finished in 21 minutes flat, two seconds ahead of 27th place finisher Rachel Suydam. Grace Thompson placed 30th with a time of 21:24 and Mellissa Zimmerman finished with a time of 21:36 placing 32nd.

Both teams return to the starting line October 16 at Delaware. Starting time is set for 10:30 AM.
