Diplomats Close Out ECAC Action

BALTIMORE, Md. – Franklin & Marshall's outdoor track and field team collected three medals on the final day of competition at the ECAC Championships, hosted by Johns Hopkins. Alyssa Ward took second in the High Jump, Logan Lewis finished third in the Shot Put and Spencer Lyman also took third in the 1,500-meter run.

Women's High Jump | 2nd – Alyssa Ward – 1.57m
Men's Shot Put | 3rd – Logan Lewis – 14.89m
Men's 1,500m run | 3rd – Spencer Lyman – 4:00.12
Men's Discus Throw | 6th - Logan Lewis - 43.46m

Alyssa Ward and Tanner Erisman hold the best chance of qualifying for the 2018 NCAA Championships, held in La Crosse, Wis. from May 24-26. Ward currently sits tied for 24th in the High Jump with a distance of 1.65m from the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. Erisman stands at 25th in the Javelin with a throw of 58.82m from the CC Champs. With the top-20 being selected for the field, they will need to remain on the bubble for a chance of making the Championships as a possible alternate.
