COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A repeat gold performance for Alyssa Ward and top finish from the women's 4x200 meter relay team highlighted the first day of competition for the Franklin and Marshall men's and women's indoor track and field teams at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Saturday. The Diplomats women sit at fifth with 20 points while the men are ninth with two points.
-Alyssa Ward repeated as the triple jump champion with a distance of 11.22m and set a new program record in the process. The senior landed almost a full meter further than her closest competitor.
-The women's 4x200 meter relay team of Kaitlin Muccio, Aleksandra Kiszka, Rachel Wylie, and Alyssa Ward took home gold, finishing with a 1:48.76 finish.
-Roger Barraby remains in the medal hunt after qualifying for the 60 meter hurdles.
-Jabari Benjamin recorded one point with an eighth-place finish in the triple jump (12.01m).
The Diplomats return to action tomorrow in day two of the CC Championships, again hosted by Ursinus.
