COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The 4x800 relay team claimed Franklin and Marshall's only gold medal at the Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Championship on Saturday. The Diplomats finished sixth as a team.
Joe Strawitz, Derek Pawlush, Greg Olenginski, and Luk Olenginski finished four seconds ahead of their nearest competition to take the gold medal in the 4x800 relay. The team crossed the finish line with a time of 7:58.27.
Tim Tillman nabbed top-five finishes in two events on the afternoon. In the 60 meter hurdles, Tillman took fourth with a 9.11, finishing behind competitors from McDaniel, Johns Hopkins, and Dickinson. Tillman also teamed up with Ibrahim Kamara, Brian Rivera, and Angelo Arce for a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay at 3:35.12.
Kamara took sixth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.27, while Jonathon Pressman tied McDaniel's Jake Nicols for fifth in the pole vault with a 11'11.75".
The distance medley team of Timothy Merlino, Mohamed Bah, Philip Johnson, and Greg Duckloe placed fourth at 10:45.69.
F&M returns to action next Saturday when the Diplomats compete at Virginia Tech.
