Men's Tennis Edges Muhlenberg, 4-3

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Franklin & Marshall College men's tennis team improved to 9-3 on the year as the Diplomats handled Muhlenberg College 4-3 in Centennial Conference action.

F&M (9-3, 4-0 Centennial Conference) overcame a 1-0 deficit as the Mules captured #1 and #2 doubles. At #3, the pairing of Andrew Mayer (So., West Chester, PA/East) and Alex Sanchez-Sierra (Jr., Tangier, Morocco/American College of Tangier) defeated Mitchell Reading and Gaspare Pizzo 8-2 to put F&M on the board.

In singles, Jeff Kraft knocked off Alex Chester (Jr., Coral Gables, FL/Palmer-Trinity) 0-6, 6-0, 6-1 at #1 before Levy defeated Brian Barkauskas 6-0, 6-2 to tie the match at 2-2. Brad Gutwillig held off Dan Lindenberg (So., Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) 6-4, 6-3 at #4 before Sanchez-Sierra dropped Adam Nodiff 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 at #5 and Ben Michelman (Fr., Severna Park, MD/Severn School) stopped Pizzo 6-1, 6-2 at #6 to take the match.

The victory raises F&M's record to 42-8 all-time against Muhlenberg in men's tennis as the Diplomats avenged a 6-1 loss

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 7 at home versus Washington College. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
