Diplomats Open Spring Season 1-2

The Franklin & Marshall men’s tennis team opened its 2010 spring season over spring break in Florida with several non-conference match-ups. Half way through the week, the squad has gone 1-2, defeating Onondaga Community College and falling to Philadelphia and Shorter. The Diplomats now sit with a record of 1-2 in the spring and 2-3 on the year. (more)

Coaches Win USTA Championship

The Franklin & Marshall tennis coaching staff won USTA Gold Balls at the USTA National Indoor Championship held December 26-31, 2009, at the Indoor Tennis Center at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. Head coach Sean Kelleher struck gold in the men’s open singles division as well as in the men’s open doubles division with partner and assistant coach Ben Zink. (more)

Diplomats Dominate Spartans

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s tennis finished their fall season with a 7-2 victory over York Friday evening. The Diplomats were dominant on the courts, winning five out of six in singles action and were two out of three in doubles play. (more)

Diplomats Compete at ITA Regionals

Eight Franklin & Marshall men’s tennis players represented the Diplomats at the ITA Southeast Regionals hosted by Mary Washington this weekend. (more)

#9 Garnet Sweep Diplomats

#13 Swarthmore rolled to a 9-0 win over Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Saturday. The Garnet (10-6, 8-1 CC) win was their fifth-consecutive victory. Swarthmore won in straight sets up the ladder. The loss brings the Diplomats’ (8-6, 5-4 CC) season to an end. (more)

Tennis Claims Fourth Straight

Franklin & Marshall collected its fourth-straight win and fifth in six matches with a 9-0 sweep of McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Thursday. The win marked the Diplomats (8-5, 5-3 CC) second shutout of the season. (more)

Diplomats Defeat Devils

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s tennis team won its third-straight match and fourth in the last five played on the strength of a 6-3 win over Dickinson on Tuesday. The Diplomats (7-5, 4-3 CC) took two-thirds of the doubles matches and four singles matches in the win. (more)

Diplomats Defeat Mules

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s tennis team defeated Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s tennis on Saturday. The Diplomats (6-5, 3-3 CC) won four of six singles matches. The Mules (2-9, 0-4 CC) picked up wins in two out of three doubles matches. (more)

Kelleher has been appointed head men’s and women’s coach at Franklin & Marshall College. A 2005 graduate at the College of William and Mary, Kelleher was the top doubles and singles player for the Tribe all four years. He was a four-time All-CAA selection in doubles and singles, while becoming the first player in William and Mary history to be named Conference Rookie of the Year.
