HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford squeezed past Franklin & Marshall 6-3 in a battle of regionally ranked Centennial Conference (CC) competitors on Saturday in men's tennis action. The 11th-ranked Diplomats fell to 5-5, 4-1 CC with the defeat, while the 10th-ranked Fords improved to 6-6, 4-0. 

By the Numbers

Jack Rothman and Inigo Flores led the ladder in doubles play, notching an 8-3 win at No. 1. However, the Fords took the matchups at No. 2 and No. 3 to take a 2-1 edge into singles play.

Singles play featured intense action as four of six matches required extra tennis. The Diplomats came out on top at No. 2 where Isaac Salas pulled out a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win and No. 3 as Zack Levin recorded a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) victory. Still, it wasn't enough as the Fords earned wins in the other four matches to take the 6-3 decision.
