LANCASTER, Pa. – Four members of the Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team were named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team announced Friday. William MacArthur was named to the first-team singles, while MacArthur and Nolan Bacchieri were named to the first team doubles. Doug Kaplan and Joshua Kane were named to the second-team singles to round out the list.
MacArthur (Gaithersburg, Md. / Magruder) earned first-team honors after receiving two second-team honors in the last two years. MacArthur led the Diplomats to the CC semifinal and posted an impressive 14-8 singles record, including a 7-2 mark in CC action. The No. 1 singles player finished his career at F&M with a 52-36 singles record, tying him for the fifth-most career wins in Diplomat history.
MacArthur and Bacchieri (Kennett Sqaure, Pa. / Tower Hill School) were the No. 1 doubles team for F&M this season. Together, they posted a 12-6 record and a 7-2 mark in conference play. In addition to this recognition, Bacchieri received honorable mention back in 2012.
Kaplan (Pelham Manor, N.Y. / Pelham Memorial) was 9-6, 5-2 CC this season from the No. 2 position. This is the sophomore's first recognition as a Diplomat and he finished the season on a three-match win streak.
Kane (Vero Beach, Fla. / Saint Edward's School) was F&M's top freshman as he posted a 16-6 overall record as No. 3, 4, or 5. His 16 wins this season are tied for seventh in F&M history for victories in one season.
