LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team celebrated senior day with an 8-1 rout of Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The Diplomats improved to 10-6, 6-3 CC, while the Red Devils fell to 6-10, 4-5 CC. With the victory, F&M clinch the #4 seed for the CC Playoffs next week.
The day began with a sweep in doubles action starting with William MacArthur and Nolan Bacchieri who teamed up at the No. 1 spot to win 8-3. Doug Kaplan and Joshue Kane followed at the No. 2 position with an 8-6 victory before Kazuhiro Tomioka and Parint Lertdumrikam were victorious by a score of 8-3 from No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, No. 1 MacArthur breezed through his match against Ari Blask at 6-0, 6-2 before Kaplan defeated Clark Chapman 6-2, 3-2, 1-0 (10-3) in No. 2 singles. Bacchieri then downed Steven Kaplan 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8) at the No. 3 position, while Joshua Kane (6-0, 6-1) and Benjamin Stern (6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8)) were also victorious from the No. 4 and 5 positions respectively.
