EWING, N.J. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team opened up its 2013 season on Saturday afternoon, competing at the TCNJ Doubles Invitational in Ewing, N.J. The Diplomats faced off against TCNJ and Drew, finishing with a 1-2 record in singles play and a 4-8 mark in doubles action.
Evan Drapeau was the lone F&M player to compete in singles competition, earning an 8-5 victory over Mike McGuire of TCNJ.
In doubles play, the duo of Benjamin Stern and William MacArthur advanced through a pair of flights with 8-0 and 8-1 victories before falling 8-3 in their final match of the day. In Flight B, Hamza Pataudi and Parint Lertdumrikam also picked up a pair of victories in their first two flights, 8-6 and 8-5 respectively, before dropping an 8-5 decision.
F&M returns to action next weekend when the Diplomats compete at the Sheandoah Invitational that takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
