LANCASTER, Pa. – Former men's tennis standout David Blatte '80 has been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men's Tennis Century Team announced Tuesday.
Blatte was a three-year member of the F&M men's tennis squad after transferring from Brandeis following his freshman year. Blatte compiled a 29-4 career mark for the Diplomats, playing primarily No. 1 singles. He captured the MAC singles championship as a junior in 1979, earning him conference player of the year honors and a spot in the NCAA Individual Championships. At NCAA's, he won his first round matchup before dropping a tight 6-4, 6-4 second-round decision to the tournament's No. 3 seed.
Blatte helped the Diplomats to a team record of 34-7 throughout his three years in Lancaster, including the first trip to the NCAA Team Championship in program history in 1980.
