LANCASTER, Pa. – Ross Silverberg (tennis) and Zach Wilt (swimming) have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 First Team. To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a starter or significant reserve.
As a first team selection, Silverberg and Wilt now advance to the Capital One Academic All‐America® Team ballot, where first‐, second‐ and third‐team All‐America honorees will be selected later this month.
Silverberg (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) a government major, earns a spot on the list after being named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Spring Academic Honor Roll earlier in the year.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Silverberg excelled on the court winning CC Player of the Year after leading the Diplomats with a 20-9 record from the No. 1 position and a trip to the CC Semifinals. He finished his career tied for first on the school's all-time wins list with 66.
Wilt (New Holland, Pa. / Pequea Valley) has been a star in the classroom and in the pool during his F&M career. A chemistry major, Wilt was named to the All-CC Academic Honor Roll all four years and guided the Diplomats to a third-place showing at the Centennial Conference Championships during his senior campaign. At the meet, Wilt earned silver in both the 400 and 800-yard freestyle relay as well as a bronze in 200 free relay.
