LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory over Centennial Conference (CC) opponent Gettysburg on Wednesday evening. The Diplomats have now won three-straight CC contests and improved to 9-8, 6-1 CC on the season, while the Bullets fell to 2-12, 0-8 CC.
Ross Silverberg continued his march toward the school's all-time wins mark, defeating Chris Curran of Gettysburg 6-1, 6-3. Silverberg is now a mere two single's victories away from tying the all-time record of 66 wins, which is held by Sherif Abdel-Misih '97.
Tommy Weibye dropped only two games at the No. 3 spot with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 win, followed by Doug Kaplan's victory at No. 4 (6-1,6-2). The back end of F&M's lineup was solid as Nolan Bacchieri (No. 5) took a 6-3, 6-0 decision followed by Hamza Pataudi (No. 6) with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
The Diplomats picked up a clean sweep in double's competition as well, led by William MacArthur and Bacchieri's 8-3 victory at the No. 1 spot.
F&M returns to the court tomorrow when the Diplomats hit the road to take on Muhlenberg at 5:00 p.m.
