Mens Tennis Thumped at Haverford
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford’s men’s tennis team
handed Franklin & Marshall an 8-1 setback in Centennial
Conference (CC) action on Saturday. The Fords moved to 6-1 (1-0 CC)
on the year, while the Diplomats drew even at 3-3 (0-1 CC) with the
loss.
Freshman, Brad Nelson, delivered F&M’s lone win in the
third flight, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0, (6-0) to improved to 6-3 on the
season.
The Diplomats played Haverford tough up and down the ladder,
particularly in doubles. Evan Stiegel and Hailiu Yang needed the
tiebreaker to defeat Josh Calo and Paul Salierno at second doubles.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday, April 1, against
Ursinus.
