COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus won nine out of 14 events on Saturday afternoon, defeating Franklin & Marshall 143-119 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming. The Diplomats fell to 3-4, 2-2 CC with the loss.
-Lang then claimed the first individual victory of the day for F&M, clocking a time of 2:17.73 to win the 200-yard breast stroke.
-Dietrich-Peterson also reached the top of the podium for F&M, finishing the 100-yard butterfly in 52.75 to take first place.
-The Diplomats relayed to victory in the final event of the night, as Dietrich-Peterson, Gould, Keith Kamons, and Sanders finished the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:14.91.
Other Notable Finishes
-Lang took silver in his third individual event, finishing the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.11 to miss out on a tie for first by .01 of a second.
-Dietrich-Peterson added to his day in the 200-yard freestyle, marking a time of 1:46.05 to take second place.
-Gould notched a pair of second-place finishes in the backstroke events, finishing the 100 in 54.82 and the 200 in 2:00.25.
-Kamons led the charge in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 22.44 to take second.
-Sanders tallied his own second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 49.26.
The Diplomats return to the pool on Saturday, once again hitting the road to take on Dickinson in Carlisle at 1:00 p.m.
