LANCASTER, Pa. – Four members of the Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team advanced into tonight's day three finals at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. The Diplomats head into the final day of events sitting in fourth place overall with 343.5 points.
Patrick Musselman earned a spot in the 200-yard backstroke finals after swimming the eighth-fastest time at 2:01.32.
John Zipp had a strong showing in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing with the third-fastest time at 46.62 to advance into the championship even. Zach Wilt, Jin Hwang and Dennis Chen all earned spots in the consolations. Wilt finished 11th at 48.21, followed by Hwang in 14th at 48.91 and Chen in 15th at 49.12.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Patrick Greaney advanced into tonight's final with a third-place showing at 2:10.41. William Cappuccio edged into the consolations after swimming the 16th-fastest time at 2:21.03.
Richard Denton completed the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.10 to earn a fifth-place finish and a ticket into tonight's championship race. Jordan Alter reached consolations with a 16th-place showing at 2:03.78.
A CC Champion will be crowned tonight at 6:00 p.m. with finals for the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
