LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Squash A.C.E.S. program will host the inaugural Squash A.C.E.S. Diplomat Challenge on Saturday at the Mayser Center Squash Courts at 4:30 p.m.
The challenge will feature a match between current F&M coach Gavin Jones (former No. 37 in the world) and former F&M coach John White (former No. 1 in the world).
Regular admission is $25, while F&M students with a student ID can attend for $5. Admission cost will provide vital program support for Squash A.C.E.S., and attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the staff and volunteers, as well as see the Squash A.C.E.S. participants in action. Admission is open to the public and light refreshments will be provided.
Squash A.C.E.S. is F&M's urban youth squash program. Launched in 2009, A.C.E.S. (Attitude, Community, Excellence, and Scholarship) focuses on these four elements to provide high-quality after-school academic and athletic enrichment for underserved middle and high school students. Partnering with the School District of Lancaster, F&M staff and student volunteers mentor and support the student participants.
