LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team will take on Catholic in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., hosted by Dickinson. Tickets will cost $6 for adults, $3 for students with ID's and senior citizens and $2 for children ages three to 12.
The NCAA Tournament Appearance marks the first postseason berth since 2007 and fourth overall in the program's history for the No. 15 Diplomats, who captured the Centennial Conference's (CC) automatic bid with a 2-1 win over Dickinson on Sunday for their first-ever CC Title. F&M (14-3-2) meets with the No. 24 Cardinals (12-5-2) for only the second time, with the last meeting resulting in a 1-0 victory back on Sep. 10, 1997. The winner of Saturday's contest will take on the winner of Dickinson and Susquehanna, who play on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. The Red Devils will play host to the second round contest as well, slated for a 5:00 p.m. start on Sunday.
The Diplomats enter the tournament winners of five-straight contests while Catholic received an at-large bid after falling to Juniata, 3-1, in the Landmark Conference Semifinals.
