KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Franklin & Marshall men's soccer player Ben Beaver has been named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team for the second year in a row. The junior forward nabbed second team honors, marking the ninth straight year in which at least one Diplomat has earned all-region accolades.
A third team selection in 2011, Beaver is one of just eight repeat honorees in the group of 33 players chosen for the three all-region squads. The all-region honor marks the second postseason award for Beaver, as he was also an All-Centennial Conference (CC) First Team pick for the third consecutive season.
Beaver led F&M in goals (11), points (25), and game-winning goals (4), while also placing in the top-four of the CC in each category. His four game-winners tied him for tops in the CC, and his 25 points and 11 goals ranked third and fourth in the CC, respectively.
With one year remaining, Beaver's name is already scattered across the top of the all-time record book. He holds the career record for game-winning goals (13), and ranks fourth in goals (32) and sixth in points (72).
F&M put together one of the finest seasons in program history in 2012. The Diplomats posted a 12-6 record, which ties for the third most victories in program history, advanced to the CC playoffs for the fourth consecutive year, and at one point climbed as high as fifth in the national rankings.
