Diplomats, No. 9 Johns Hopkins Battle to Scoreless Draw
BALTIMORE, Md. - For the fourth consecutive meeting, the Franklin & Marshall and the ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer teams played an overtime contest this time battling to a scoreless draw in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.
In a rain-soaked and windy affair at Homewood Field in Baltimore, chances for both teams were few and far between. The Blue Jays (11-2-3, 5-0-2 CC) held the edge in shots through 110 minutes, taking 12 to Diplomats (7-5-3, 2-2-3 CC) three.
Sophomore goalie Zach Zamek recorded his fourth shutout of the season, finishing with four saves on the afternoon. Matt Mierley was not credited with a save in posting his sixth shutout.
F&M returns to action on Wednesday night against Ursinus. Game time is 7 p.m.
