LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kevin Mollihan was named the ECAC Division III South Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, while Todd Cavallaro garnered Coach of the Year honors, announced on Tuesday.
Cavallaro was also named the Centennial Conference (CC) Coach of the Year for the second time after leading the Diplomats to their first-ever CC Championship and first NCAA appearance since 2003. F&M downed Elizabethtown by an 11-8 score in the Tournament's Second Round, setting a program-record for wins in a season with 16.
Mollihan (Ridgewood, N.J. / Ridgewood) also landed on the All-ECAC Second Team and continues to stockpile postseason accolades following his noteworthy freshman campaign. The first-year attacker became F&M's first CC Rookie of the Year and was just the sixth freshman in the 24-year history of the Conference to earn First Team recognition.
Starting all 19 games at attack, Mollihan led the CC in goals (63) while placing second in points (81) and 10th in assists (18). He scored five or more goals on seven occasions, including a career-high seven against Muhlenberg on April 29.
