Diplomats Shoot School Record 300 to Finish Second at Elizabethtown Men's Golf Invitational

HERSHEY, PA - Ross Brown (Fr., Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) carded a 72 to place third as the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team shot a school record 300 to place second at the Elizabethtown Invitational at the par 71 Hershey Country Club.

The Diplomats' 300 score marks the first time F&M has averaged 75 for its four scoring golfers in the College's history and marks the lowest team score in school history bettering the previous mark of 304 set by F&M in the second round of the 2003 Centennial Conference Championships at Eagles Landing Golf Course in Berlin, Maryland.

Further, it marks the second 305 or lower score in as many matches as the Diplomats shot 305 at the Lebanon Valley Invitational on September 26.

Franklin & Marshall placed three golfers in the top ten as Bryan Hartog (Fr., Richmond Hill, Ontario) and Kevin Penhallegon (So., Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) both shot 75 to tie for eighth behind Brown.

Dennis Gunderson (Fr., Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) shot 78 to place 23rd and Mark Quick (Sr., Forest Hills, MD/St. Pauls) tapped in for a round of 81 and 40th place to round out the Diplomats' players.

Susquehanna won the team title with a score of 294 behind a medalist performance by Pat Serfass who finished three under par with a 68.
