Oscadal Cards a 74 to Lead Diplomats to Seventh Place at 2004 F&M Fall Men's Golf Invitational
LITITZ, PA -- Matt Oscadal (So., Lebanon, NH/Lebanon) shot a 74 (35-39) to lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the 2004 F&M Fall Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club.
Oscadal was one of four Diplomats from the "F&M White Team" to card in the 70's on the course as Kevin Philipow (Sr., Sudbury, ON/Heritage), Ben Madonia (Jr., Clinton, NY/Clinton) and Joey Murphy (Fr., Vienna, VA/James Madison) each shot 79's as the team finished with 311 points.
On the "F&M Blue Team", Kevin Penhallegon (Fr., Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) led the way shooting a 75 (39-36) to lead his squad to a 10th place finish with a score of 324, one stroke in front of the "A" team from Swarthmore College (325) and two in front of the College of New Jersey (326).
Mark Quick (Jr., Forest Hill, MD/St. Pauls), Pat Son (Fr., West Pittston, PA/Wyoming Seminary), and Dan Eggertsson (Sr., Royal Palm, FL/Suncoast) rounded out the top four finishers on the Diplomats "B".
Overall, West Chester University of Pennsylvania won the invitational with a score of 290, three strokes ahead of runner-up Wesley College (302). The Rams PJ Politan took the individual title carding a 68, one stroke better than runner-ups Zak Oakley of Wesley (69) and Bo Maguire of Ursinus (69).
Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on September 13 at the 2004 Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club. Start time is set for noon.
