Gunderson & Brown Lead Diplomats to Seventh Place at Wesley Fall Men's Golf Invitational

WYOMING, DE - Dennis Gunderson (Fr., Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) shot 73 and Ross Brown (Fr., Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) carded a 74 in their first intercollegiate competition to lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the Wesley College Fall Invitational at the par 72 Wild Quail Country Club.

The Diplomats finished the tournament with a team score of 308 as Kevin Penhallegon (So., Sudbury, Ontario/Heritage) and Matt Oscadal (Jr., Lebanon, NH/Lebanon) shot 80, Mark Quick (Sr., Forest Hills, MD/St. Pauls) and Bryan Hartog (Fr., Richmond Hill, Ontario) shot 81 and Tim Sheridan (Fr., Hockessin, DE/Sanford) tapped in for an 82.

McDaniel College's Steve Perrone took medalist honors with a 68, one stroke better than Wesley's Will Scarborough, as the Green Terror won the invitational with a score of 295 to best Wesley by one stroke.

West Chester (300), York (301), Gettysburg (304), McDaniel B (307), F&M (308), Rutgers-Camden (313), Frostburg State (314), Alvernia (319), Neumann (323), The College of New Jersey (327), Villa Julie (343) and Manhattanville (362) rounded out the team scores.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on September 19 at the F&M Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club.
