WYOMING, DE - Carson Crooms (So., St. Petersburg, FL/Canterbury) shot 72 to tie for first place with Wesley's Zac Oakley to lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team to a third place finish at the Wesley College Spring Invitational at the pat 72 Wild Quail Country Club.
Franklin & Marshall finished the tournament with a score of 311 as Mark Quick (Jr., Forest Hill, MD/St. Pauls) carded a 78, Kevin Philipow (Sr., Sudbury, Ontario/Heritage) shot 80, Kevin Penhallagon (Fr., Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) carded an 81 and Ben Madonia (Jr., Clinton, NY/Clinton) tapped in for an 86.
Oakley took medalist honors over Crooms by a match of cards as Wesley won the team title with a score of 298. NYU (305), F&M (311), McDaniel (321), Rutgers-Camden (323), The College of New Jersey (326), Richard Stockton (327), Newport News (342) and Ursinus (349) rounded out the tournament.
Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 16-17 at the Glenmaura Invitational hosted by Kings College at Glenmaura Country Club.
