Franklin & Marshall Finishes Eighth at McDaniel Men's Golf Spring Invitational
GETTYSBURG, PA - Ben Madonia (Sr., Clinton, NY/Clinton) shot 160 (83-77) over the par 72 Links at Gettysburg to tie for 23rd place and lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the McDaniel College Spring Invitational on April 1-2.
Bryan Hartog (Fr., Richmond Hill, Ontario/Langstaff) finished one spot behind Madonia carding a two day total of 161 (79-82), while Dennis Gunderson (Fr., Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) tied for 38th with a 168 (83-85), Ross Brown (Fr., Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) placed 46th with a 171 (84-87) and Mark Quick (Sr., Forest Hill, MD/St. Paul's School) placed 47th with a 172 (91-81).
Overall, Franklin & Marshall finished with a score of 654 (329-325) to defeat The College of New Jersey (337-323-660), Muhlenberg College (348-337-685) and Marymount University.
Carnegie Mellon University captured the team title with a score of 599 (304-295) as the Tartans were led by medalist Matt Simone (72-73-145) and placed all five golfers in the top 21.
