Gunderson Ties for Second as Diplomats Place Eighth at Gettysburg Spring Men's Golf Invitational

GETTYSBURG, PA - Dennis Gunderson (Fr., Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) shot par to tie for second place and lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Gettysburg College Spring Invitational hosted at the par 72 Links of Gettysburg.

Gunderson tied with Susquehanna University's Mike Schwenk (34-38) and Keystone College's Tom Coleman (36-36) for the runner-up spot behind medalist Josh Sheppard of York College of Pennsylvania (32-37-69) as Gunderson went out in 35 and came back in 37 to shoot par and finish as the top Centennial Conference player.

Mark Quick (Sr., Forest Hill, MD/St. Paul's School) tied for 31st in the tournament (37-44-81), while Bryan Hartog (Fr., Richmond Hill, Ontario/Langstaff) tied for 40th (37-45-82), Ross Brown (Fr., Kingston, Pa/Wyoming-Seminary) tied for 49th (42-42-84) and Ben Madonia (Sr., Clinton, NY/Clinton) carded an 87 (42-45) to tie for 59th.

Overall, Franklin & Marshall finished with a score of 319, three strokes off the pace of seventh place the College of New Jersey (316) and six better than ninth place Marymount University (325).

Susquehanna captured the team title with a score of 296 as the Crusaders placed all five players in the top 14 of the tournament field.
